Green Careers for Veterans in Energy and the Environment
Wednesday, July 21st at 12 PM
Please join us for a virtual discussion on career opportunities for military veterans in energy and the environment! Securing gainful employment is a key goal for veterans transitioning from military to civilian life. However, many veterans struggle to secure meaningful employment once they return home. Military veterans should have substantial support after they return to civilian life because they have higher rates of post-traumatic stress disorder and disability, which may make it more difficult to transition to civilian life. Gaps in knowledge about the civilian employment sector can represent a significant barrier to employment. This event will offer recommendations and discuss the process of desired career fields in the environment and energy sectors. Veterans will also find inspiration in others’ stories of how they transitioned into their careers.
