traditional ecological knowledge & the indigenous environmental fight

Traditional Ecological Knowledge and the Indigenous Environmental Fight Virtual Presentation

Wednesday, June 30 at 6:30 PM CDT via Zoom

Brushwood Center is partnering with the Sierra Club's Woods and Wetlands Group for an evening with Jim Denomie from the Bad River Band of Chippewa, a national Indigenous and environmental leader. Jim will be discussing the importance of traditional ecological knowledge, the Indigenous history of the Great Lakes, the Indigenous struggle against fossil fuels in northern Wisconsin, and how environmentalists can support Indigenous priorities.

We are committed to ensuring that local environmentalists have access to this event, so they can learn about the importance of valuing and integrating the history and expertise of traditional ecological knowledge, topics that the environmental movement has historically excluded. If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected] or [email protected].
